Thrive Therapy looks forward to helping you find the right fit on your path to wellness.
Meet Emalee Jones
Having personally experienced pain and struggle, I know how hard life can be. I have also felt the benefits of working with therapists who have helped me make sense of my experiences and feel more connected to myself and how I want to show up in the world. You have also gone through a lot to get where you are. Looking for a therapist can feel difficult and even scary; but the benefits of a good match are really worth it. I am honored to have the opportunity to walk alongside clients in their journeys towards healing and wholeness, and I respect the courage it takes to take this step. I believe anyone can benefit from counseling. Whether you want to improve your relationships, understand your emotions more, want to process traumatic experiences, or want to just maintain your mental health, therapy can be tailored to meet your needs.
I work from the belief that all people have innate worth and dignity, and change happens when we develop self-compassion, experience compassion from others, and learn to live wholeheartedly. No two journeys are the same, so I believe it is important for client and therapist to work collaboratively to remove obstacles in the way of growth and uncover a unique path towards wholeness for each individual. I offer a warm, gentle space for clients to explore what they want out of therapy and their lives moving forward.
I work with issues such as anxiety, perfectionism, body image, self-esteem, depression, grief, relational issues, religious abuse, PTSD, and developmental and complex trauma. I consider my style of counseling to be integrative, so I pull from various theories and techniques such as attachment theory, emotion-focused techniques, family systems, interpersonal, psychoanalytic, and somatic therapies to create a unique approach for each client. I am also trauma-informed and primarily use EMDR for clients wanting to process traumatic experiences. EMDR can also be used to address anxiety, panic attacks, addictive behaviors including eating disorders, intrusive thoughts, depression, and others. If you’d like to learn more about EMDR or wonder if it might be a good option for you, please check out this site for more information.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my two kiddos and my adorably-rambunctious Goldendoodle pup. I love being in nature, traveling, spending time with friends, drinking coffee, doing puzzles, listening to Taylor Swift, and reading.
